Mwingi TTC is a registered college by Ministry of Education and is a KNEC assessment center, providing the best Diploma teacher training courses.
We currently offer five courses namely:
- Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (DSTE)
- Diploma Teacher Education (DTE-PRE-PRIMARY & PRIMARY)
- Upgrading Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (UDECTE)
- Upgrading of P1 Primary Teachers (UDPTE)
and Technical courses including: Computerized Secretarial Studies, ICT, Social Work, Accounting Courses
(CAM, ATD, and CPA) etc.

Mwingi Teachers Training College (MTTC) has a Department of Sports and Games that that has set the college to be a powerhouse of sports and games. It manages and promotes sports activities within the college and the entire Academic Villages comprising of Mary Mount Boys, Mary Mount Girls, East View and By Grace Comprehensive Schools. The Department is responsible for organizing both competitive and recreational sports, including intra-mural and extra-mural events. MTTC is also actively involved in regional and national sporting events, Kenya Teachers Colleges Sports Association and National Inter-Collegiate Olympic Model.

The 2024 Graduation Ceremony was a momentous event for Mwingi TTC. Hundreds of graduates received their diplomas in education, marking years of dedication and resilience. The day was filled with joy, inspiration, and celebration of academic achievement.
Mwingi TTC introduced new specialized programs focusing on digital literacy, inclusive education, and modern teaching methodologies. These programs are designed to prepare future educators with 21st-century skills that meet the needs of diverse learners.
The 2025 Sports Day was a vibrant showcase of talent and teamwork. Students and staff competed in athletics, football, and volleyball, fostering unity and school spirit. Notably, the volleyball team emerged as National Champions — a proud moment for the entire college.MTTC has consistently performed well in KTCSA championships, with teams clinching top positions in various disciplines like soccer, Volleyball, handball, and athletics. 2024/2025 academic year Mwingi TTC are the national champions in Volleyball and we are saying, no going for less than that in the next 5 years to compensate the five years we have been position 2 in the same discipline. Right now we are also embarking on girls Volleyball team, and very determined to break the odds at the regionals and see it proceed to nation during 2025/2026 Olympic Model. Athletics We have lately discovered that our sporting environment, does not favor in marathon and the track events in general but field events, we measure to the highest bargain at regionals and nationals. One Norline Ngali Mwendwa (DTE 2) secured Pos 2 at the regional and Position 1 in nationals in Vault, receives a Gold Medal, “a pride to the college”
